Smoky blue window seat library

A reading library built round a window in smoky blue: bookcases to the ceiling either side, a bridge of shelves over the window and one cove crown across it all. Under the window, a deep seat with four big drawers, a rust velvet cushion and linen bolsters, and a brass swing-arm reading light on each side.

• Black library wall A wall-to-wall library in satin black: shaker cupboards and a bank of drawers on a plinth, a moulded ledge, and open bookcases above between wide fluted pilasters. A cove crown runs along the ceiling, with a brass picture light over every bay.
