Walnut library with a desk niche

A four-and-a-half-metre library wall in solid oiled walnut, with frame-and-panel doors and face frames, a cove crown and a brass picture light over every bay. In the middle a writing desk is tucked into a niche lined in cognac leather, between two brass reading lamps, and a walnut ladder rolls the whole length on a black rail.

• Oak coffee and wine bar A built-in coffee and wine bar in oiled white oak, set between two tall pantry cupboards. Under the counter an X-cubby holds a dozen bottles beside drawers for coffee and a glass-door wine fridge. Above, a deep green tiled niche with two floating oak shelves, brass stemware racks and warm LED strips, under glass-fronted cabinets for the glasses.
• Chocolate music room wall A music room wall drenched in chocolate brown: two towers of LP-sized cubes for a record collection, lit shelves above them, and between them a walnut-topped console with an open amplifier bay and drawers for pedals and cables. Over the console, a walnut rail carries three brass guitar hangers, and a slim ledge shows the record that is playing.
• Blue-green mudroom lockers Four open lockers in a soft blue-green, one for everyone in the house, with shiplap backs and two black double hooks on a rail in each. An oiled white oak bench runs across the bottom with a seagrass basket under each seat, and more baskets sit in the cubbies over the hat shelf. A cove crown finishes it at the ceiling, and two anti-tip brackets hold it to the wall.
