• Three-tier cherry spice step A three-step cherry riser for the back of a cupboard, 400mm wide and 225mm deep, each tread 40mm higher and 75mm further back than the one before, with a low lip along every front edge. Thirty small jars stand in three rows where every label can be read at a glance, so the cumin stops hiding behind the paprika; the treads and risers sit in housings in stepped sides, so it never racks.
• Pistachio beadboard breakfast nook A breakfast nook along one kitchen wall: pistachio beadboard to just under the window sill with a cap ledge for herbs, and in front of it a 2.2m bench of two deep drawer cases under an oiled oak seat, dressed with ticking cushions. Three people eat at it, the drawers swallow placemats, napkins and the board games, and the painted boarding behind your back wipes clean.
• Maple two-step storage stool A sturdy two-step kitchen stool in oiled hard maple, 450mm wide and 400mm deep, that reaches the top cupboards and stores what a cupboard would: the top step lifts on a soft-close stay to a box for cloths and bags, and the bottom step shelters an open cubby for a basket. It replaces both a folding ladder and a drawer in a kitchen with neither to spare, and doubles as a seat for small helpers.
