Limestone arched niche wall

A living-room wall built out 280mm on plywood ribs and faced in limestone-coloured MDF, with three tall arched niches cut into it: each lined, fitted with two oak shelves on an oak sill and lit by a warm puck light let into the top of the arch, under a cove cornice. Display shelving that takes up no floor, with the depth of the build-out hiding the speaker and lighting cables.

• Petrol blue slatted radiator cover A radiator cover that turns the most awkward metre of wall in a small room into a 230mm-deep oak shelf: petrol blue slats in front, at least 60mm clear above a standard 600mm radiator, an open kick below for cool air to draw in and a brass vent grille let into the back of the top so the heat still rises. It replaces the console table there was never room for, and hides the radiator for good.
• Fluted oak media wall A wall-to-wall media wall in oiled white oak and soft black. The TV hangs on a floor-to-ceiling panel of oak slats over a black backer, with a warm glow behind the screen and two LED lines running up the slats. Below it a floating console with six fluted doors hangs on a French cleat, lit underneath, between tall open oak shelves over black cupboards.
• Arched fireplace media wall A whole fireplace wall: a limewashed chimney breast with fluted pilasters, a chunky oak mantel and the TV above, between olive alcove cupboards whose open shelves sit behind tall arched fronts, each shelf lit by a warm LED strip.
